According to IBM, the effort to find the kind of multi-functional materials, cheaper and can generate electricity from solar energy has gained a new impetus to the project “Clean Energy” Harvard published lists 2.3 million organic carbon compounds capable of turning sunlight into electricity after molecular screening using community networks in the world (World Community Grid), a supercomputer hypervisor management by IBM to harness excess computing power by volunteer contributions.

IBM’s World Community Grid currently has 170 members in Vietnam.
This project has brought assessment of quantum chemistry is the most comprehensive ever done ever, helping scientists can use the research results to further investigate the potential compound One is to develop organic semiconductor materials, the new material, the power generation equipment (such as solar batteries).
Previously, the project “Clean Energy” by Harvard University and the world community network of IBM Initiative was launched in genetic material (MGI – Materials Genome Initiative) by U.S. President Obama launched in June / 2011 within the framework of efforts to create new jobs, address social challenges and improve the global competitiveness of the United States through the promotion of materials science.
With the cooperation of many organizations and individuals, up to the present time, World Community Grid has provided for the project “Clean Energy” the computing power equivalent to a personal computer implementation of scientific calculations within 17,000 years.
According to IBM, more than 2.3 million computers of 600,000 volunteers and organizations from 80 countries have contributed to the computing power of World Community Grid projects during the past 9 years. Results of the contributions that have shaped one of the fastest supercomputers virtual planet, contributing to accelerating research for hundreds of years. In 2013, there were at least 22 projects being implemented or activity has been completed thanks to the World Community Grid.
World Community Grid currently has nearly 170 members from Vietnam more than 800 computers connected throughout the country.
