One of the biggest goals for Windows 8 that Microsoft is expanding the tablet market, and according to the latest figures from Strategy Analytics, Microsoft has achieved that. In the third quarter of last year only 400,000 Windows tablets (tablet market share up 1.7%) assigned worldwide and this number is almost unchanged compared to 2011. 6 months later, with the appearance of the Windows 8/RT tablet from Acer, Lenovo, Asus, Samsung and Microsoft both lines produced by the Surface, Windows tablet market share has risen to 7.5%. In quarter 1/2013 of 3 million tablet with Windows 8/RT assigned, a very good growth if compared with data in the operating system yet released.
